Angela Köhler-Günther

Prof. Dr. Angela Köhler, is currently Senior Honorary Consultant to the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) after 40 years of research on “The Metabolism of Live Cells of Marine Organisms (Fish, Mussel) in Response to Environmental Factors and Toxic Chemicals”.

These scientific projects resulted in 146 publications with 45.000 reads and over 6000 citations and in a “Research Interest Scores” higher than 98% of Research Gate members. Most publications of her research group with altogether 21 PhD theses were focused on health damage by chemical pollution including microplastic.

Angela was the Head of the Research Group Cell Biology and Toxicology in the Department of Biosciences at Biologische Anstalt Helgoland, Chemical Ecology at the AWI and 14 years as Professor of Marine Biology and Toxicology at the Jacobs University in Bremen.
